Scope
Surface Interval Training, in partnership with Rollins
College's Department of Career Services, began offering an
academic internship program in Spring 2008 for qualified
students with an interest in recreational dive training and
small business.
Students will participate in either the PADI Divemaster
Internship program or the PADI Assistant Instructor
certification program (dependent on qualifications) as well as
attend dive functions, work with company decision-makers,
develop marketing strategies, and attend major industry events
such as the DEMA Trade Show.
Admission Requirements
The internship program is open to Rollins College students
who meet the following requirements:
- Student must be in good academic status with the College
(Above a 2.0 cumulative GPA).
- Student must be a certified diver with holding at least
the Rescue Diver or equivalent rating from an
internationally recognized recreational scuba training
agency (Ex. PADI, NAUI, SSI, BSAC)
- Must have a flexible schedule as most of Surface
Interval's dive events occur in the evening and on weekends.
- Must be willing to pursue either the PADI Divemaster
Internship program or the PADI Assistant Instructor
certification.
- Must successfully interview with one or more of Surface
Interval's Principals
Application Process
- E-mail resume and cover letter outline both business and
diving related qualifications to Kevin B. Green at
info@surfaceintervaltraining.com .
- If all requirements are met, an interview will be
scheduled.
- Following a successful interview, the student may
register for the internship with the Department of Career
Services at Rollins College.
