Weeki Wachee Basin
Since 1947, Weeki Wachee Springs has entertained and mystified visitors with its crystal clear, cool waters, and mythical mermaid inhabitants.

Opened by former Navy frogman Newton Perry, Weeki Wachee began its life as one of many Florida roadside attractions, drawing weary travelers in for a show and refreshments, drawing attention with the promise of mermaids.    And as time has past, Weeki Wachee harkens back to a forgotten era, reminding us of the great attractions in Florida's history.

Now a part of Florida's Blue Ribbon State Park System, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park lives on as a show park, nature preserve, and dive site.

Weeki Wachee Springs is a first magnitude spring, flowing at a rate of more than 117 million gallons per day.  And within the last few years, Weeki Wachee Springs has been determined to be the deepest water-filled cavern in North America.  Weeki Wachee is not only a historical landmark, but a critically important natural resource.

Surface Interval Training is proud to be one of only a select few approved facilities who have partnered with the Florida Park Service to provide dive services at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.

Surface Interval Training will once again begin offering guided dive tours of Weeki Wachee Springs beginning in Summer 2011.
