Become a citizen scientist.

The Project AWARE/REEF Fish Identification course teaches divers to become "citizen scientists" and engage in fishwatching for science in the Tropical Western Atlantic (Florida, Caribbean, and Bahamas).

You'll learn the basics of identifying the common reef fish families, use special recording slates, and turn data in for scientific research.  All before lunch.

Do something nice for the planet.

  The Project AWARE Fish Identification course is made possible thanks to a partnership between theREEF Logo Reef Environmental Education Foundation and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors.

This course is suitable for both divers and snorkelers of all ages who are interested in learning more about the fish that they come in contact with during their dives.
